He is desperately searching for happiness in his life, googling how to be happy, and reading self help books. His life becomes more miserable with a loss of job and eviction notice. With a twist of fate though, he chases a smily balloon and gets hit by a car, but ultimately finds happiness in the end. The video reinforces the song's theme of changing emotions.
