Multi-faceted instrumentalist and producer Sly5thAve starts 2024 with his new release titled "Monoxide. The future-funk/soul piece sees him teaming up with MonoNeon, MacKenzie and Peter Knudsen and together they deliver a potpourri of vibes and sounds that aim to lift our souls. The production is rich with sizzling electric guitar riffs, cinematic pads, plucky basslines and snapping drum grooves peppered by expressive vocal runs by Mackenzie and use of extensive sound design techniques that expand the depth of field in the song itself.
"Monoxide" is taken from his forthcoming album Liberation.
Sly5thAve is currently living in Brooklyn and in the process of recording a studio album of his orchestral tribute to Dr. Dre, as well as some new compositions which are set for release on Tru Thoughts in the new year. Sly5thAve is also a member of Quantic’s live band, and has spent much of the summer touring as well as working on multiple projects with Ghost Note (formed from two members of Snarky Puppy), Strawberry Jam, and funk project Igbo.
