From self-doubt, and depression to coming to terms with one's inner demons, Otis takes us through the ups and downs of life and its intricacies. The accompanying visual employs a fusion of performance shots, subtle architectural motifs and grainy visuals to accentuate the solemn message being conveyed.
Taz Conley – "Fast" (feat. Shyloom)
Taz Conley's newest release "Fast" is a frenzied and rousing track that digs into taking big steps and breaking barriers on one's own accord. Over a dark and haunting backdrop, Taz delivers a series of energetic cadences underpinned by unfiltered lyricism and a memorable hook to close it out. Veteran Boston spitter V Knuckles and prolific producer Phoniks team up to celebrate the hip-hop culture with the aptly titled track "The Next Chapter". Phoniks scenic track hinges on its smooth and scenic samples and vocal samples that accentuate V Knuckle's hard-hitting rhyme schemes and show of love for his predecessors who laid the foundation for him to walk on. The accompanying visual is straightforward and captures V Knuckles' in his element. No glitz, no glamour, just raw uncut hip-hop.
Eloise Fabbri – "BEAUTY"
Birmingham, UK-based, Guernsey-born singer/songwriter Eloise Fabbri drops the visuals for her heartwarming tune titled "BEAUTY". The jazz tune is a brilliant heartfelt tune that explores the true essence of beauty and it's more than skin deep. The visual itself plays into the theme with its cinematic approach that uses Eloise's vocal presence as the focal point and the use of dark moody aesthetics adds an emotional oomph to it as well.
Loose Buttons – "I Saw Jon Hamm At The Beach".
NY-based pop group Loose Buttons deliver this playful tune titled "I Saw Jon Hamm At The Beach" which is inspired by a real-life experience that involved spotting the actor at the beach. The rock-pop tune has a nostalgic feel and is underpinned by laidback melodies and joyful lyrics that reflect the downsides of chasing perfection. The visual is quite hilarious as we see the quartet having fun with a cardboard cutout of Jon Hamm as the legendary Don Draper character.

MOPHEAD TBC – "Purses"
Brooklyn, NY artist Mophead TBC drops his first release for 2024 in the form of the single "Purses". The track has a dreamy texture and thick bass-heavy drums underpinned by his whispered melodic flow and unassuming demeanour which filters into the visual style. It's a straightforward clip that uses various cut scenes, angles and performance shots in a seamless manner.
Jamal Gasol – "Blackout 3"
Western NY emcee Jamal Gasol helps close out this week's video bits with his new release "Blackout 3" which is taken from the the 3rd installment of The World Is Piff series. The production has that gritty NY sound and it's peppered with Jamal's street-savvy raps and commanding flow. The visual uses retro visual effects akin to the 90s home videos and like the song, it is also gritty and dusty with moody effects and focuses on Jamal with his crew doing what they know best.
