Dublin-based indie luminary Pauric O'Meara has released the title track "Smoke & Mirrors" from his eagerly awaited EP. Produced by Daniel De Burca, this single delivers a dose of energy, paired with honest storytelling.

Opening with funky guitar riffs, pulsating drums, and a tumult of voices symbolising life's confusion, "Smoke & Mirrors" grabs attention instantly. The track evolves with a mix of guitar strums, bass lines, and melody, building to a powerful chorus infused with rock elements—a true emotional outpouring. The glitter of synths paired with the massive chorus, filled with indie nostalgia, is a guaranteed mover. Pauric O'Meara will have you shuffling in your seat, eager to get up and move with his anthemic sensibilities and irresistible indie charm.

Reflecting on the single, Pauric shares, "Smoke and Mirrors is a play on how people who decide to leave you behind, will always come crawling back if you stay doing you, and realise the mistake they have made. Following on from Adore, which discussed how hard that person leaving can be at the start, but after heartache, comes happiness. Always. If someone doesn't think you're good enough for them, don't let that change who you are. Stay doing you, stay smashing those goals, and they will be the ones left with regret."

He continues, "Someone who decided they were too good for me. and that I was holding them back, left me behind years ago. This same person tried to crawl back into my life, but I didn't let them. Why? because I'm not going to be anyone's reason to give out and blame the world for their choices, I won't be anyone's smoke and mirrors, I will just be me, and hope that's good enough for the people around me."

The EP, themed around love in friendships and relationships, progresses from 'Adore' to 'Smoke & Mirrors,' emphasising a journey of resilience. Pauric's journey is encapsulated in these three singles, promising a cathartic release of the final single in February.

Hailing from Co. Tipperary, Pauric O'Meara has earned acclaim for electrifying live shows, including sell-outs and festival hits. From the 2020 EP 'Looking Forward to Hindsight' to his more recent endeavours, Pauric continues to captivate audiences. With more shows and releases ahead, Pauric O'Meara is a rising star leaving an indelible mark on the music scene.
