MONTE is a punk band from Brooklyn formed by lead singer and guitarist Caitlin Montclare. Their new single "Canna-Vision" is a destructively dazed reverie on the stark transition back to work after emerging from the blur of quarantine.
"Canna-Vision" draws inspiration from pop-punk bands of the 80's and 90's with hyperactive percussion, feverish bass lines, and electric vocals that crank the volume. The music video begins with bong rips and spiked coffee in a cozy new york apartment. The band then heads into MONTE Corporate Headquarters where they find themselves slipping into old vices throughout the work day. Caitlin sings, "I need to feel something and nothing simultaneously." "Canna-Vision" is an unabashedly blunt take on the stressful effects of a career with lyrics that muse on the coping mechanisms that get MONTE through the day.
"Canna-Vision" is the first track from MONTE's upcoming full-length album. The single was produced by platinum record producer Barb Morrison who has worked with artists including Blondie and Franz Ferdinand. Watch and listen to "Canna-Vision" for a wickedly explosive ride.
