Austin based singer-songwriter, musician and creator Skateland has returned with a new cinematically layered indie pop tune. Called "Autobahn!", the song is released alongside a comedic music video.
With "Autobahn!", Skateland writes a track all about the ups and downs of love. There are many stages and feelings in a long term relationship and Skateland discusses this along with the realization that the tough times also make the love worth fighting for. Lyrics including, "I like you / I hate you / I love you / But I believe in love / And in the two of us," show the faltering feelings that often happen in relationships. Sonically, "Autobahn!" features a kaleidoscopic array of synths, sporadic beats and a memorable hook. The operatic, soulful bridge is endearing and enthralling, adding to the unique song. The music video mirrors the song's meaning and shows the concept of an up and down relationship. The opening scene is the narrator phoning to break up with his girlfriend. With the couple's friends fighting and taking sides, ultimately the duo work things out, find love together and get married.
Skateland is the new musical project of Dorian Williams II. The artist has received acclaim for his thrilling sonic fusion and candid autobiographical releases.
