Sometime last year, eclectic rapper Iman Europe and prolific producer Kaelin Ellis thrilled listeners with their bouncy release “get widdit!”, and now they return with something different. Their new release "Masterpiece" is a master class in fusing genres with rap. Over Kaelin's Bossa Nova-inspired backdrop, Iman proceeds to detail the mechanics behind her persona and the steps it takes to be self-confident in all endeavours. Armed with her distinct vocal tone that weaves seamlessly over the groovy soundscape, Iman takes listeners on an emotionally powerful journey that aims to inspire, uplift listeners and at the same time push the envelope around her artistry.
For those who might not be privy to her, Iman Europe has an extensive back catalogue and after obtaining a degree in Creative Writing, she released her debut album Nami in 2018 behind a successful Kickstarter campaign. Her songs have been placed on shows like HBO’s hit series Insecure, Netflix’s Nappily Ever After, and Disney’s Good Trouble TV series.
