Posh Chocolates, the musical moniker of Christian Ellery, presents an EP of sonic intrigue titled Clever Weight Champion, defying genre norms and inviting listeners into a realm of musical experimentation. Initiating the journey is "Weird & Bizarre," a testament to Ellery's exceptional production skills and a lyrical approach that cleverly balances eccentricity with songwriting prowess. The track's off-kilter drum beats and infectious groove beckon audiences into the idiosyncratic world of Posh Chocolates, revealing a nuanced understanding of musical construction beneath the surface quirkiness.

Continuing the sonic expedition, "Seein' Stars" unfolds with dynamic guitar work and funky drum arrangements, showcasing the artist's ability to craft aural landscapes that transcend traditional boundaries. The EP takes an unexpected turn with "7%," introducing a hip-hop-infused vibe underscored by a pulsating synth bass and innovative lead synths. Posh Chocolates unveils a new facet, delivering a rap performance that injects vitality into the project.

The concluding track, "Level Up," envelops the listener in an enigmatic atmosphere, featuring pitched vocals, sharp chord progressions, and trap-inspired drum patterns. Vocal samples are seamlessly integrated, creating a contemporary hip-hop ambiance. Posh Chocolates contributes a memorable hook and emotive strings, adding depth and sophistication to the EP's sonic tapestry.

Rooted in Ellery's fascination with MF Doom's alter-ego concept, "Clever Weight Champion" becomes a vehicle for self-expression, exploring themes of human fulfillment and societal complexities. He explains ““I became obsessed with MF Doom’s idea of Quazimoto being his high-pitched alter-ego. I was infatuated with the idea of being able to say things in a voice that I don't perceive as my own. It allowed me to speak freely in a way with less consequence. I’ve always used this detachment method for channelling new parts of myself and the “Clever weight Champion" is no exception to this theme.”
