Uprising rapper Javyn Knight is off to a great start and shows his lyrical brilliance with the release of two tracks "Correspondence" and "Vibration", with accompanying videos. As an indie artist, he uses the tools at his disposal to get his message across and shows us that one doesn't need multi-million budget videos to do just that. Both videos are performance shots of the rapper in different spots with simple straight shot angles and seamless transitions with song lyrics to carry viewers along.
“Correspondence” is an introspective track where Knight reminds us of our true being as we are made in the image of God. Over a sombre and soulful, he breaks down his perspective of the concept of a Godlike image with lines like "One thing you gonna know when you enter this realm, nigga you're god/When you figure it out and wake up back on Earth the full control of your avatar's realized" and concludes on the chorus with a thought-provoking melodic hook.
The second “Vibration” flips a soulful guitar-driven sample that music lovers might recognize. Here, Knight talks about the never-ending daily tribulations that come our way and reminds us that the only way is to keep our heads up and push through with perseverance. He peppers the track with aspirational and insightful lines like “Say they gave ya false idols, you can believe in huh? It’s greivin’ huh/Only way to break the spell is to raise the frequency huh?/They having secrets huh, but we know the hidden histories and mysteries/Self-knowledge created a different me“. Overall, it’s the perfect aspirational tune that aims to boost our self confidence and remind us not to ever give up.
