UK Songwriter Max Norton returns with his emphatic second single, "Give Me One More Chance", serving as a captivating glimpse into his upcoming EP, Each One Is a Movie, where themes of hope, change and the joy of life unfold across five tracks. Renowned for his versatility as a musician, songwriter and producer, Norton showcases his creative mastery with a hands-on approach, assuming roles from songwriter to recording engineer for every instrument featured.
The song's instrumentation, marked by uplifting electric guitar chords, immediately envelops listeners in a narrative of longing and hope. Norton's soulful vocals add a poignant layer, guiding us through a musical journey that steadily builds with each verse. Dynamic drums inject a powerful energy, reaching a crescendo during the choruses, amplifying the emotional impact.
Hailing from London and drawing inspiration from musical legends like Levon Helm, Jeff Buckley, Otis Redding, and Courtney Barnett, Norton seamlessly weaves an eclectic mix of influences into his forthcoming EP.
Max tells us, ‘“Give Me One More Chance” is a wandering song that exists in the listener's own time and place. For me, it’s set in the East Village in New York City during the 60s at the start, but enters into its own dimension when the drums kick in.
It's a new take on life while standing in a specific place. I love playing this one live, because I get to take my audience on the journey with me and really make a movie with it."
