Tehran, Iran-born, Brighton-based singer-songwriter AVIJÉ (ah- vee- jair) fell in love with music at a young age and soaked in the timeless music from legends such as Sade, Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu. She eventually found her calling in the jazz-soul arena and now is working on her new project, A New Beginning, but in the interim, shares the new single "Black Jungle". The heartfelt track is made up of rumbling bass-driven grooves, rich horn passes and slick guitar plucks all underpinned by AVIJÉ's commanding vocal runs and heartfelt lyrics. Here, she sings about the mental exhaustion that comes from seeking another's validation and love and how she eventually had to pick herself up and move on from this toxic love.
"Black Jungle" is lifted from the forthcoming project, A New Beginning, which examines the subject of Freedom and what it means to be free; spiritually, creatively, and politically.
