Sacramento rapper Showtime Ramon's latest effort "84 Dan Marino" is a retro-synthwave-infused cut that sees him in high spirits as usual. The subtle nod to the former American football quarterback in the title is suggestive as we hear Ramon's unfiltered bars about bad baddies, the highlife of the '80s, and his own leveling up in the rap game. Bolstered by the rich synth-driven backdrop that sounds like a clip from an '80s action thriller, Showtime Ramon continues the verbal barrage with no remorse and even leaves the chorus section with nothing but cinematic lead synths to elicit the feeling of something sinister in the background.
The song comes with a visual clip shot by director Shimo Media who uses the rappers' laidback style in all its glory. From performance shots to cruising the mean streets in an all-black Ferrari to being surrounded by seductive women, the visual definitely gets the job done and pays homage to the 80s era.
