As Norwegian producer Ol' Burger Beats prepares to drop his forthcoming album, he delivers a new single "For the Family" featuring VA-based BK emcee Awon. The track is a dusty, low-key banger that showcases Burger's incredible gift for transforming samples and pairing them with his favourite artists. Awon sounds more than comfortable and blends melodic vocals with smooth bars to turn the track into an immediate album highlight. Lines like "Black interior, Snake Eyes, the snow ninja/With opulence I got a doctorate, me falling off is preposterous/This last decade I have been dominant" show a glimpse into his verbal prowess and how he easily stands out as a top tier emcee.
“For the Family” is set to drop on Thanksgiving through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms. Stay tuned for more music off Burger’s producer LP, 74: Out of Time, which in addition to Awon, includes guest appearances by Pink Siifu, billy woods, Lojii, The God Fahim, Ill Camille, Yungmorpheus, Fly Anakin, Gabe ‘Nandez, Quelle Chris, Vuyo, Vic Spencer, Kooley High and more. The 17 track album is due out Feb. 16 via Coalmine Records and will be available via DSPs as well as vinyl in multiple color variants.
