Los Angeles indie pop rock singer-songwriter and musician Halo Kitsch first caught our ears with her debut EP With You (In Mind) which put her in the spotlight and now she returns with a new single "i was a virgin (on drugs)". The new track is a profound and haunting tale about how a boy's irresponsible actions nearly ruined a girl. The mid-tempo production has a rich pulsating electric guitar riff and punchy drums that give it a distinct urgency. here, Halo shares her anger and frustration on the issue as she recounts the horrid tale. She takes listeners through the rabbit hole where we meet the protagonist being sullied by the antagonist's underhanded actions. From mental manipulation to plying her with drugs, we see the near ruin of an innocent soul but fortunately, she survived the ordeal and lived to tell the tale.
Written by Halo herself, and produced and engineered by Ben Zelico, the track is a gritty dark-pop record with alternative rock elements underpinned by raw emotions and a commanding vocal performance from the singer.
