After thrilling us with her brand of lofi/pop-infused sounds in her previous releases, Emerging pop singer Aimee Van returns with her new single "Life or Death". The reflective song centers around self-growth and looking at the bigger picture in this never-ending thing called life. Aimee digs deep and shares her thoughts with a refreshing candour with lines like "My 5-year plan is to care a little less, I'm obsessed with being too obsessed/I try to take a joke but I only take offence maybe that could be my next step" and proceeds with a somewhat carefree demeanour as she continues to balance what matters to her the most. The track starts off pretty mellow and rises to a peak as the drums and anthemic guitar riffs come into play in the first chorus which plays into the dual concept of the song. Overall, the track has a 90s soft-rock aesthetic with a modern twist.
