North Carolina rap artist, songwriter, and producer Aasher has been on the rise since he put out his debut album S.H.I.F.T, which set him on an eight-city US tour. Now, he is closing out the year with his new single "betray me.", a heartfelt and reflective track written by Aasher himself, and co-produced with Netherlands beatsmith Woodpecker. Over an ominous and gloomy backdrop made up of haunting vocal hums and dark textures, Aasher unleashes pent-up anger stemming from his personal experience with betrayal and deception. In a way, he admonishes himself for trusting certain people who turned out to be snakes but then, he uses these experiences as a sort of character development process to be a better person. His flow is quite expressive and each line is sullied with much emotion and passion for the subject matter at hand.
The Charlotte native is currently working towards his highly anticipated sophomore project, which is arriving in early 2024.
