South London-born singer-songwriter OURAA taps into the spooky season with her new single "BEDBUGZ", a dark experimental R&B tune that implores listeners not to let negative thoughts or people get into their heads. Once again, she teams up with longtime collaborator TEE who crafts a cinematic soundscape made up of plucky keys, and sublime textures that rise to a plateau in the chorus section. Here, OURAA reminds us that not everyone is exactly who they say they are and it's often up to us to decipher those who are genuine from the detractors whom she alludes to as bed bugs who are only out to bite and drain our positivity away.
The accompanying visual takes inspiration from a handful of modern horror flicks and reimagined them to fit the plot. We see OURAA navigating various mind-boggling trappings and terrifying situations that could leave one's mind paralyzed. There is also a major twist at the end of the video so watch out for it.
Her new EP Blood Orange will be out in Spring of next year.
