LiketheAstronaut takes us through life's dichotomy on 'Moments Before'

LiketheAstronaut takes us through the slate of emotions that accompanies life on debut EP Moments Before…, a five-track collection that comes alive with a lush electro-pop soundscape underscored by elements of folk.

Having begun as a passion project for John Glenn (Stellar Young), after losing his father and becoming a new father within the same year, the emotive act featuring the talents and expertise of Dave Parker (Stellar Young, Weerd Science, Coheed & Cambria), Josh Eppard (Coheed & Cambria) and Kyle Hatch (Stellar Young) draws us into an expansive yet cohesive sonic world on the EP.

Opening with atmospheric beats and echoing vocals of the title track and the synthesized richness of “Made Time,” the EP warms our hearts and leaves us introspective with each layered note. An emotive quality shines through on slow burn number “A Part,” juxtaposed against the anthemic touch of “Slumber Still,” before ending on the minimal yet impactful notes of acoustic guitar-led “Blueberries.”

Reminiscent of artists such as CHVRCHES, Sylvan Esso, Bon Iver, Imogen Heap, and with a dose of personable messages, LiketheAstronaut’s debut unveils the dichotomy of life within alluring and catchy melodies.
