Mo Kolours is skeptical about "The News These Days" [Video]

Multi-faceted artist Joseph Deenmamode aka Mo Kolours is currently working on putting out his album Original Flow, but in the interim, he is sharing with us the visuals for the lead single "The News These Days". The social and spiritual conscious song dwells on the modern-day world that we live in which is filled with information overload and misdirection and the need for us to be careful of what we consume. Over a choppy jazzy backdrop made up of psychedelic guitar plucks and pronounced grooves, Mo Kolours draws our attention to the many ways we unconsciously pile our minds and bodies with unnecessary elements with lines like "These days, everything that we see your subconscious mind goes deep/everything that we hear, you know it don't stop at your ears/everything that you see, your unconscious mind think it's real/Yet we build our realities on the things we take in". Armed with his laidback flow and sultry melodic runs, he passes the message along as calmly as possible without being preachy.  The visual is quite subtle and follows Mo Kolours as he goes about his daily activities.

Original Flow is an album of UK street-soul nouveau, future indigenous jazz fusion, Rasta Segga, Nyahbinghi jazz, Malagasy Hebrew hip hop. While retaining a spirit of exploration and improvisation, it sees Deenmamode grow and flex beyond beat tape brevity, expanding composition and stretching his musical muscle to play live with other musicians. Themes of empowerment, overcoming adversity, and mental liberation coexist with notes from ancient history, futurism, and science, as well as musings on family and togetherness.

Original Flow: Chapter One is set for release on 17th November 2023. Original Flow: Chapter Two, with a vinyl and CD combined double album release, is scheduled in 2024.
