Seven Spies uncovers the truth in powerful new single “Lie”

British indie alt/rock band Seven Spies take off their rose-tinted glasses in their new single “Lie.” The raw and relatable track is about a broken relationship, where lead singer David Blomiley opens up about the painful realization that this particular love story sadly doesn’t have a happy ending. After trying to avoid the truth and force things to work he succumbs to the fact that he cannot keep living a lie.

Blomiley shares, “It’s about being in the wrong place to be able to be with somebody no matter how much you love each other. Telling yourself that one day it will all work out and be ok but knowing that may never be the case. There is more than a nod to how life as a musician, the passion and commitment that is demanded can be all consuming and not allow you to be there fully for your life outside of that world.”

“Lie” showcases Seven Spies’ love and talent for big, bold and crashing instrumentation, inspired by the likes of Muse and Radiohead. Raucous guitars and thunderous percussion set the backdrop for passion-fuelled vocals, where it sounds like Blomiley finally feels free in admitting his truth.
