Singer/songwriter duo McGrane & Wallace have just shared their sun-soaked single "P.C.H.". The twosome blend soft rock, pop, folk, Americana and occasional hits of Jazz and soul for a genre-blending enveloping musical journey.
With "P.C.H.", the duo pen a nostalgic song looking back at their youth and all those beautiful endless summer days they experienced in Southern California. The song is aptly named for Pacific Coast Highway, an iconic landmark and important highway capturing the laid back beach culture of California. Lyrics including, "Driving with the top down / On the highway / I remember this as the place I loved the most / You can’t run back to the past / You know that life goes on,” also show that one must live in the moment and not get too wrapped up in past memories to not enjoy the present. Musically, "P.C.H." is an expansive and cinematical affair complete with gorgeously warm harmonies over lush piano chords and 60's inspired acoustic guitars. A sky-soaring chorus thrills with every note with McGrane & Wallace's vocals seemsley blending together.
McGrane & Wallace is composed of neighbors DD McGrane and CJ Wallace. When a freak power outage happened during lockdown for an online gig DD was performing, she went across the street to her neighbors house CJs to use her internet. When CJ heard DD's music for the first time, she knew she wanted to perform with her. The rest is history with the duo finding a unique sonic convergence and deep musical songwriting partnership. "P.C.H." exemplifies just this. Take a listen to the new single now and remember to enjoy the moment.
