Adanna Duru's newest single "if i was a boy ;)" sees her teaming up with producers Khris Riddick Tynes and Rob Bisel and and serves as the lead single for her forthcoming NAPPY HOUR II EP.  The upbeat and feel-good track is a blend of humorous and emotionally striking lyrics that detail how men constantly let their women down and never have to answer for their bad behaviour. Armed with her rich vocal tone and sublime melodic approach she makes biting lyrics like "If I was a boy I'll swing my dick around/I will never eat you out/I will always let you down" sound like nursery rhymes. It's an obvious play on the what-if situation if roles are reversed and the struggles women face in relationships. The verses are quite heartfelt and Adanna gets to express how she truly feels about the way men treat women and in the end, she implores men to just do better.

The song also comes with a brilliant visual piece that helps bring the fun-filled track to life. It has a DIY-style feel and follows Adanna doing fun things with her crew. The visual aesthetic is bright, playful and vibrant too.

“if i was a boy ;)” is the first single from Adanna’s forthcoming EP, NAPPY HOUR II, which is due out on December 1, 2023. Adanna will celebrate the forthcoming EP release with her first-ever headlining shows: November 12 at The Moroccan Lounge in LA and November 18 at The Mercury Lounge in NYC.
