We Owe drops psychedelic ballad "Illogical Thinking"

Brooklyn-based musician Christopher Pravdica’s solo project We Owe shares psychedelic ballad “Illogical Thinking,” which delves into processing phenomena for which there is no rational explanation.

Inspired by his own brief obsession with Bigfoot that track weaves through our mental journey in understanding odd instances where logic fails. Rooted in elements of dream pop and chamber pop, the track blends soothing melodies with groovy undertones building upon layers of vocals, choirs, synths, pianos, guitars and percussion to induce a fantastical yet therapeutic vibe.

Accompanied by trippy music video directed by Jim Larson, the visuals compliment the sinister vibe of the track. Speaking of the video, Larson says, The famous computer scientist Alan Perlis said: “A year spent in artificial intelligence is enough to make one believe in God," and for a song called "Illogical Thinking", I thought it would be interesting to have a bunch of AI-generated imagery of people in churches worshipping.

"The song is really pretty but also kind of sinister, much like a lot of the Bible Belt where I live in North Carolina. You'll be driving through the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and then, suddenly, see a cross with "Blood Redemption Secured" painted on it with arrows pointing down a dirt road to an old church.  So I filmed some of those landscapes with a drone to give a bird/God's eye view, then dropped in some AI animations with unique prompts like "Bikini Baptism" and that was that!," he added.

The track is the second glimpse of his upcoming sophomore LP Major Inconvenience, a 11-track collection that charts complex emotions within genre-bending soundscapes rooted in electronic music bordering anti-pop, synth-punk and post-rock.

Known for his versatile musicality and his captivating yet witty dives into personal and social subjects, We Owe continues his immense contribution to experimental and avant-garde music with this latest offering and beyond.
