Multifaceted L.A. based alternative hip-hop artist Quinja is slowly charting her path in the game with her unique genre-bending style of hip-hop. From conscious, afro-futuristic themes to AI-assistive imagery, Quinja brings something different to the forefront. She is currently working on a 27-track album and in the interim, she shares with us her latest single "Horizon" which sees her setting the tone with her thought-provoking and social-political lyrics. Over the pounding upbeat drums and moody textures, she explores the lack of support for female artists who are not willing to sell their souls and also the state of modern hip-hop. Her flow is untethered, while her commanding voice has that authoritative punch as every line is etched with passion. Lines like "I've been ready for my time, they say I'm too underground/They say people wanna dance but they also want the truth/Tell me why can't we have both like male rap" show her resilience as an outlier in the male-dominated game and also her confidence to question the system and make listeners sit up and listen.
The West Coast AfriQan Princess is currently finishing up her sophomore rap album titled "The Crown Princess is Here" which is set for release on December 30th, 2023.
