Rising Dagenham-raised drill artist J1up delivers his new single “Run It Up” which serves as his third official release since he started his music career this summer. With more than a handful of freestyles and videos behind him, he is poised to take his art to a new level with his brand of insightful and story-driven style to a wider audience. “Run It Up” sees the East London rapper reflecting on his past and the many characters and events that helped change his trajectory in life. For better or for worse, the rapper pontificates on the ups and downs as he reflects on his growth like “I’ve gone through a lot of shit,I’m getting older now/1-3 when I buck my first older now/He says he’s made a lot of music wants to help me out/I thought I need a bit of help, let’s see what he’s about” and asserts himself to always stay on the grind with lines like “There is nothing funny with no money up so fuck the funny stuff, I’m on the money stuff”.

Overall, J1up delivers a solid introduction to his life as new fans can easily follow his journey and more importantly relate to it.

J1UP is a self-taught artist, producer and engineer who started dubbing with music as a child in his dad's home studio. Surrounded by music and witnessing the creation process from an early age, he fell in love with the craft when he started secretly recording himself and showing his music to his friends.
