Rising Nigerian singer/songwriter/producer Kemuel first came into prominence after he released his debut EP Escape last year which garnered him some attention from top tastemakers and now he is back with a brand new jam "Alone" which continues his hit-making skills.
On the self-produced song, he linked up with prolific Nigerian guitarist Fiokee who peppers the sombre textures with his signature rich electric guitar riffs that boost the emotional oomph of the track. Kemuel adds that the song was inspired by his life where he relocated to Lagos to the detriment of his relationship. His girl had asked for reassurance about their bond but the distance and time proved to be stronger and ultimately the relationship withered away. Here, Kemuel pontificates on all the things he said he would keep the love alive but alas that didn't come true.
"Alone" is the perfect song for all you lonelyhearts out there, wishing you did the right thing and if you're in a relationship right now, do right by your partner and don't end up being alone.
