Los Angeles based LatinX singer, songwriter and musician COQUÍ has just released his latest single. Called "Charlie" the song follows a trio of singles shared earlier this year including the riveting "Ven Con Migo".
With "Charlie", COQUÍ writes a song all about darkness and pride taking over a past friend of his. Disdain, jealousy, hatred and more are terrible traits and take away the light found in any relationship or friendship and with "Charlie" COQUÍ details just that. Lyrics including, "Is it a crime to hear me out? / Maybe you’ll realize / Something you never knew before / Wounded ego / Open up her eyes," shows him questioning the behavior of a former friend trying to bring her back to positivity and openness. Sonically, "Charlie" features a pulsating blues rock rhythm under thrilling melodies and confident vocals. A lively Americana infused guitar hook soars over the sonic fusion for an enticing listen.
COQUÍ was inspired by his father's vinyl collection as a kid. Currently the artist is inspired by 70’s psychedelic rock, 90's hip-hop, and skate-punk, all influencing his own music. With a strong faith and desire for constant introspection, COQUÍ creates impactful music with a purpose. Take a listen to his new track now and share your thoughts on social media.
