Rising Cambridge musician SLATER captures intense emotion on “Nothing’s Ever Ok,” weaving through a tale of despair underscored by strength. Built on rugged guitars and heavy drums, the track is rooted in a dark and heavy rock sensibility but infused with optimistic touches of indie rock sonics.

Led by poignant lyrics and passionate vocal lines juxtaposing a vibe of boundless energy , the track is captivating and introspective as it transports you a complex mental space with ease.

Speaking of the track, he says, “Nothing's Ever Ok is a story of a loved one battling the big ‘C’ whilst facing the effects of our crumbling NHS. Left with the choice of staying here, watching it spread, or going home and leaving behind her entire life in pursuit of getting better.”

Besides building upon deeply personal experiences, the track also explores deeper issues of cultural and political propaganda in an intimate way that also manages to perfectly resonant with a wide audience.

Having earned a fanbase for his alluring stage presence and sensitive portrayals of important and difficult issues in his music, SLATER is on the cusp of stardom.
