Los Angeles' Penny Harlow has dropped off a new track, titled "Imperfectly Me". At a young age, Harlow became drawn to alternative and indie music after experimenting with a range of genres. With an eclectic background in music that included singing in the choir, performing in musicals- as well as performing with rock and indie acts, Harlow developed a vibrant, diverse repertoire. Listing an array of artists including Gorillaz, Pharell, Garbage, and Daft Punk as influences, Harlow tries to bring a versatile sound to the table with each release. Performing alongside her band for her latest single, "Imperfectly Me", Harlow drops off an energizing, catchy alternative release that includes flourishes of pop, electronic, and more.
"Imperfectly Me" includes bristling instrumentation centred around raw, upbeat guitars, and crunchy percussion containing DnB influences. As the guitars build in sheets of sound and "Imperfectly Me"'s potent rhythm section picks up an electrifying groove, Harlow delivers poignant, infectious vocals that build dynamically into an explosive, memorable hook.
Harlow's latest "Imperfectly Me" represents a diverse, engaging new song that captures the listener with its unfiltered energy, accompanied by a lively performance from her band.
