Based out of Brooklyn, New York, singer/songwriter Peter Wise unveils his new single, “Only Gotta Start.” A freeing song about letting go and feeling unshackled from all the negative emotions that cloud our minds, the uplifting track sends us a reminder that we are all in control of our own happiness, and when we’re stuck in a rut, all we have to do is change our way of thinking.
Wise shares, “I was feeling pretty burned out with my life at the time I wrote this song. I felt that, despite being extremely busy and making a concerted effort to move forward professionally and personally, I wasn’t making any forward progress. I really wanted to move on in my life, see progress in my career and progress in letting go of a past relationship.”
Reminiscent of Bruno Major, Billie Marten and The 1975, the feel-good “Only Gotta Start” shines bright with soul-drenched vocals, fast-paced percussion and quirky embellishments such as the sampling of an old child-sized violin.
“Only Gotta Start” is the first single to be released from Wise’s upcoming 13-track album. Combining fun, smile-inducing melodies with captivating storytelling lyrics and a hint of blues-infused guitars, Peter Wise has concocted a sounds that is totally irresistible and we can’t wait to hear the remainder of the album.
