Sodieboy clears out his “Recents” on new single

Genre-bending artist Sodieboy is charting his own path with his style of pop-infused hip-hop. He was raised by full-time musicians and has been immersed in the industry at a young age with him signing with Atlantic Records A&R’s right after finishing college and he has performed alongside luminaries such as Curren$y, Chance the Rapper, and Ab $oul. His latest release titled "Recents" is a heartfelt love tune that explores the dynamics of one-sided love. Bolstered by the production skills of ReezyTunez who crafts a sombre but bright soundscape made up of warm textures and bouncy grooves with Sodieboy providing the rich guitars, the singer reminisces on his past love and all the good times they had before things turned sour. Armed with his stylish melodic flow and vivid storytelling pattern, Sodie takes listeners on an emotional journey with lines like "Petty arguments and all the drama you provide/I don't remember ever signing up for none of that/Ain't no refunds on love, we don't get to run it back".

Sodie also gives us some insight into how the track was made;' When I met Reezy, I was working for free as an intern in that studio. I was first there, last to leave, unpaid, only spoke when spoken to (for a while) and really at the very bottom of the pyramid. To have Reezy and Derek, two guys I have looked up to and learned from for so long, as well as Nicolas, who is a legend in the mastering/music world, come together for me to put this out is incredible. '
