KOAN Sound has unveiled their latest single, "Liquid Levity", streaming now on your platform of choice. Comprised of Will Weeks and Jim Bastow, the duo consistently captivates listeners with their genre-defying compositions and intricate rhythms.

Alongside the single, they announce their groundbreaking album, Led by Ancient Light, due for release in Fall 2023. This album will take listeners on a journey where narrative, organic instrumentation, and cinematic sound design converge.

"Liquid Levity" is a sonic expression of raw energy, mystery, and revelation.  The track is interwoven with feelings of nostalgia and profound tranquility. It builds on the journey initiated by "Ascension," the first track from the album.

The forthcoming album, Led by Ancient Light, transcends the realm of conventional albums. Listeners are treated to an intricately woven tapestry of music and storytelling that transports them to a remote desert planet inhabited by ancient beings, the 'Ardor'. The dynamic interplay between the cello and piano throughout the album creates a more intimate and cohesive experience, mirroring the dual nature of the Ardor's wisdom and their raw, untamed planet.

KOAN Sound's sonic voyage is aided by esteemed audio engineer, Jim Barr, and the iconic Studio Bell, Home of the National Music Centre in Calgary, Alberta. Barr has enriched their cello and piano recordings with a futuristic, electric edge, while the ambiance of Studio Bell resonates in the album's piano aspects.

These collaborations result in Led by Ancient Light, KOAN Sound's most ambitious project to date, reflecting their narrative, conceptual approach. With an organ-driven closure on the final track, the celestial ending of the story encapsulates their expansive creative vision.

The album, a standalone auditory experience, will be complemented by a graphic novella and a documentary, adding a tangible, visual dimension to their work. More details about the live show, which promises to mirror the epic and intimate aspects of Led by Ancient Light, are to be announced soon.
