Charlie Rauh, a renowned musician and composer, has released his highly awaited album, "A Hymn To The Morning." This exquisite compilation of lullabies, crafted for acoustic guitar, voice, and sound design, is a tribute to the exceptional poet Phillis Wheatley. The album commemorates Wheatley's groundbreaking achievement as the first published African-American writer, a remarkable feat that occurred 250 years ago. Rauh's captivating melodies, coupled with the album's rich tapestry of influences, take the listeners on an unforgettable musical journey blending plainchant, baroque, Appalachian folk, and R&B.

With nine soul-stirring tracks spanning a total of 15 minutes and 14 seconds, "A Hymn To The Morning" is a gateway to a world where music and poetry unite in perfect harmony. The album features exceptional collaborations, including the enchanting vocals of Jenn Mundia and Naeemah Z. Maddox, as well as the lyrical prowess of Louis Logic.

The opening track, "A Hymn To The Morning," sets the mood with its ethereal beauty, where Jenn Mundia's voice effortlessly floats above Rauh's masterful guitar work. The track's gentle cadence and intricate sound design create a captivating atmosphere that leads seamlessly into the poignant "To Give An Higher Appellation Still," featuring the mesmerizing vocals of Naeemah Z. Maddox.

Throughout the album, Rauh showcases his exceptional artistry, skillfully weaving together a diverse range of musical styles. "Her Morning Sun" is a captivating blend of elements from Appalachian folk, while "A Hymn To The Evening" brings the album to a close with its haunting melodies and introspective lyrics.

"A Hymn To The Morning" is more than just an album; it is a heartfelt tribute to the enduring legacy of Phillis Wheatley. Through Charlie Rauh's remarkable compositions, listeners are invited to embark on a journey that celebrates the genius of Wheatley's poetry and her life's remarkable journey.
