LA-based band The Americans introduce a new era of sharply-focused creativity with their latest single, "When You Get Back," from their upcoming EP release, Strays, out 7/21.

The track resonates with an urgency that reflects their renewed commitment to their craft, drawing them closer to the essence of their artistic expression.

As a band, The Americans showcase their versatility as both musicians and songwriters. Their music effortlessly combines the playful stylistic elements reminiscent of artists such as Whiskeytown, with clever wordplay and occasional dashes of rock. Simultaneously, frontman Patrick Ferris exudes stateliness and mystique, captivating listeners with his thought-provoking and heartfelt lyrics.

The Americans' ability to interweave highbrow thematic writing with the gritty essence of Americana-laced rock 'n' roll sets them apart as the epitome of cool. "When You Get Back" is a new take on a classic heartbreak song, diving into devotion, and solitude in the face of unlikely odds.

The Americans' last two releases, Stand True (2022) and I’ll Be Yours (2017), helped catapult the band into the spotlight. Throughout out the course of the last several years, The Americans have an impressive amount of accolades to their name. The band has backed Nick Cave, Lucinda Williams, Ashley Monroe, and Devendra Banhart, and joined Ryan Bingham on four national tours. They worked closely with Jack White and T Bone Burnett, joining Nas, Elton John, and Alabama Shakes in the PBS/BBC primetime series American Epic. They have appeared on The Late Show (CBS), and their music was featured in the films Texas Killing Fields, A Country Called Home, Little Glory, and the TV series No Tomorrow.

As The Americans embarks on this new chapter, their forthcoming release holds the promise of a band unafraid to explore the depths of their creativity. They invite listeners into their enigmatic world, where darkness and light converge, and the pursuit of truth and authenticity becomes an ever-present quest.
