Manchester-based rapper Sweets's newest release "Telephone" sees him pouring out his heart on wax. Over the sombre and upbeat guitar-driven backdrop, Sweets take us through the progression of love and relationship from the good to bad. Sweets deliver a refreshing take on the topic and offer his own admission and show his flaws and vulnerability with lines like "No one wants to leave a situation with the angle with the hatred but it's easier than pain, sometimes/And I could see the light that everybody was only trying but it's hard 'cause my emotions run away, sometimes, I know that we could never be the same". Joining him on the track is fellow emcee Finnerz who shares his own memories of the past on the second verse.
Overall "Telephone" is relatable, solemn and somewhat heart-wrenching for all listeners, especially if you have been in that situation before.
