Exploring a captivating narrative of the coming-of-age experience in 21st Century society, Faye Donna Francis' debut EP, Process, showcases her influences and artistry in a distinct style. Through her poetic lyricism and soulful melodies, reminiscent of Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, Faye brings a new depth and richness into the neo-soul world.
Each track within the EP features heartfelt vocals and RnB arrangements, unveiling Faye's personal journey from ages 19 to 24, that delves into connection, resilience, and self-discovery. Her bold message, challenging social norms and inspiring listeners to take the path of self-acceptance, weaves through her lyrics, bringing an uplifting spirit to all four pieces.
The focus track, "Overwhelming", is an emotional ballad, involving dreamy vocals and delicate piano and strings throughout. Faye’s powerful melody highlights her message on overcoming the modern day struggle.
Including previously released tracks such as, "This House No Home" and "Cut Me Off", Faye has an additional new track, "Therapy & Chocolate". This track serves as a cry for help and overcoming life's obstacles. Laced with soothing RnB harmonies, this seamlessly flows with arpeggiated guitar chords. A sense of hope and light at the end of the tunnel is a clear theme throughout Process.
Faye talks on the project, “Process” is a project about the first few years of living in your twenties and being completely vulnerable about the experiences I faced. In doing so, I hope I find like minded people who also unsuccessfully are managing their twenties and can relate / start to have real conversations about what they as young adults are experiencing too.”
