Lu’Ami, the alternative pop artist, makes a triumphant return with her latest single, "Addicted", a sassy and infectious tune. Drawing inspiration from Icelandic pop, electronica, and neo-soul, this track boasts a rich tapestry of harmonies, groovy synths, and an irresistible beat that will set your feet in motion. Lu’Ami's distinctive style seamlessly blends live vocal loops with electronic elements, resulting in a captivating sound. Her music has often drawn comparisons to the likes of Erykah Badu and Björk, evident in her tone and melodic choices.
What sets Lu’Ami apart is the attitude she brings forth in her vocals and melodies, exploring a wide range of timbres in her own unique way.
Lu’Ami tells us about her single, “‘Addicted’ is about caring more about validation from others than yourself. This is a pattern I have struggled with before but on this occasion I was staying over at a guy’s house and it was super warm. The more he put his arms around me, the more I couldn't sleep but I kind of didn't care because I wanted him to be cuddling me, which was really counterproductive because I obviously needed to sleep. It felt like an addiction that I knew what I needed but I was ignoring it for something else.”
