Queens-based act Eitan Noyze showcases the power of instrumental music on his latest album Hornography, a collection of tracks that sample horns from across genres and styles to craft a dynamic and versatile sonic experience.
With a smooth blend of horns floating over a backbone of hip-hop, the album is rooted in Noyze’s trademark of nostalgic yet fresh musicality where powerful beats and lush melodies carry the track without the need for rap or vocals to bolster it.
From the sax riffs of “Whisper,” to the jazzy touches of “Horn Star,” the album's soundscape manages to be unique and familiar all at once.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the project, Noyze said, “The project was created solely using the famed Akai MPC 3000, giving this album a modern yet nostalgic sound. I was inspired by the NYC party called "Soul in the Horn," that I would frequent before the pandemic, where DJ's and musicians would come together and perform brass driven music from different genres.”
Showcasing a genre-hopping artistry that encourages listeners to embrace the beauty of instrumental music, Eitan Noyze is act worth keeping on your radar.
