Depression, Baby are a London-based alt-rock quartet and they are making serious waves with their new single "In My Blood," giving listeners a taste of what's to come on their upcoming EP, 'So What?' With sold-out headline shows and recognition on Spotify editorial playlists, Depression, Baby has become a force to be reckoned with in the music scene.
Produced by Ben Beheshty, known for his work with Nilufer Yanya, Blanco White, and Fred Wave, "In My Blood" showcases the band's introspective songwriting merged with a tight, high-octane sound reminiscent of The Strokes. The track immerses listeners in a world of driving drumbeats and energetic guitars, evoking memories of unforgettable nights spent in music venues. Its lyrics delve into the struggle of navigating a collapsing modern society.
Reflecting on the creation of "In My Blood," Depression, Baby shares, "The song was built off the demo made by me (Dan, frontman) during a long period of isolation in my flat in January this year… I wanted a song that had energy and life… to remind myself that I've been down before and made it out okay."
Forming in late 2019, Depression, Baby quickly established themselves as a formidable live act. Their unique blend of driving guitars, noisy synths, and melancholic melodies has gained recognition from BBC Introducing and Spotify Editorial Playlists. In 2022, they signed with Marshall Live Agency, embarked on successful UK tours, sold out London headline shows, and released their debut EP, 'A Window With A Screen For A View.' With their latest material, Depression, Baby is poised to achieve even greater milestones as they captivate audiences with their captivating sound.
