Rotterdam, The Netherlands-based Ghanaian hip-hop artist Kay Slice returns with the visuals for his song "Yessika". The afro pop-infused record is an insightful dive into Ghanaian Western visualizing the taxman's game of always aiming to get as much as he can. Bolstered by the rich electric guitar arrangements and rousing percussion-driven grooves, Kay Slice explores the daily struggles the everyday man has to go through in order to survive and sometimes it seems like hope is lost but then a silver lining appears to give relief. Kay Slice sure delivers a solid and emotional performance blending subtle melodic elements into his repertoire while his energetic raps are filled with thoughtful gems such as "Let me uncover it/Although we struggling, we got resilience we don't need loans, Chale but we need ownership, set still ownership/ It's about ownership, that is our power and call it empowerment".

The accompanying video is directed by Fidelio Faustino who uses interesting motifs and a full black cast of characters. A taxman shows up unannounced at the doorstep of a financially troubled man, aiming to collect the overdue taxes owed to the government. Realizing his inability to settle the debt, the man finds himself in a desperate situation. However, an unexpected twist occurs when the taxman proposes a unique solution to resolve the outstanding dues.

The single is lifted from his new EP Uprise. Uprise is an EP on which the light of the sun always shines. Rays that illuminate both the sweet side of life and its darker corners, captured in undeniable grooves that have been influenced in equal measure by Ghanaian guitar giant Ebo Taylor and American rap veterans The Roots. The EP comes along with a music video for the single Yessika.
