Acclaimed singer/songwriter, composer and producer Mati Gavriel has just shared his latest lush orchestral indie pop song. Called "Someone to Somebody" the song is the first release since 2008 from this prolific producer.
With "Someone to Somebody", Mati Gavriel has written a song all about love, the desire to form connection and how transformative the nature of selflessness can be. The emotive single co-written with Sheppard Solomon, also touches upon the ebbs and flows of love, the fluidity of the emotion and how important it is in our daily lives. Lyrics including "just to be someone to somebody / we all just want to belong / nights are long / you keep hanging on and on," show just how universal the longing to be loved is. Musically, "Someone to Somebody" features striking acoustic guitars, cathartic melodies and layered strings for a cinematic and rich musical offering. Notes of pop, rock, folk and classical are effortlessly intertwined and weaved together to create a decadent and breathtakingly beautiful and heartfelt song. The accompanying music video was directed by cinematographer Michael Pessah and features vivid images behind Mati who is performing and singing the song.
