Barely a week on from their viral hit collaboration "Amapiano", which has already amassed over 20 million global streams, African music icon Olamide and Nigerian pop star Asake are back together again, with another banger titled "New Religion". The song serves as the focus single for Olamide's forthcoming album, Unruly and it sure sets the tone for what is to come. Bolstered by Magic Sticks' hypnotic production heralded by lush keys, airy horns and soft percussions, both Asake and Olamide revel in their respective successes reminding listeners that they have gone too far to turn back now. Asake leads the track with his distinct choppy melodic flow followed by Olamide's laidback rap that fuses English, pidgin English and Yoruba seamlessly.
The accompanying music video for "New Religion" is pure opulence in visual form. From Olamide's grand entry into his exquisite mansion filled with splendour and grandeur. It also makes use of action-pack scenes of Olamide and Asake having fun in a storm with snowmobiles and many more dance moves executed by colour-coordinated dancers.
