Folktronica duo Firewoodisland have shared with the world a beguiling new single "Looking For Love". This track is taken from their upcoming album set to release later this year and is released fresh off the back of their show supporting the Kaiser Chiefs in London.

Based in Bristol, but originally hailing from Norway and Wales, Stian Vedøy and Abi Eleri have built a reputation for the detailed and refreshing sonic spaces they create with their music. They’ve have success through national radio play, TV sync placements and plenty of tastemaker support for their self-labelled ‘Mountain Pop’ sound that combines pop melodies with organic folk instrumentation, as well as a great deal of electronics and atmosphere.

"Looking For Love" showcases their signature sound through layering vocal and guitar loops, as well as strummed acoustics, distant drum’s and stylistic harmonies. This creates a charismatic mix of organic and digital that is cinematic in both its soundscape and its feelings of hope and honesty. Going into the later stages of the track we are greeted with brass, strings and even more vocal layers, that pull us into an uplifting and unstoppably optimistic climax. The track is released alongside a music video, which has been put together in collaboration with creative community Le Bon Unique, and it equally as relentlessly and infectiously hopeful.

Speaking about the track the duo share: “'Looking For Love' is an explosion of hope. It evokes that feeling you can only get when you drive into the sunset, blasting your favourite music with the windows down, together with your best friends. The lyrics have an important message that you are intrinsically valued and loved just by being. And that true beauty starts the moment you learn to value and love yourself.”

Throughout 2022 the duo have been writing and recording their 3rd album. Within their new material, the band talk about their life stories, their struggles and their hopes and dreams. They promise to bring a more raw lyrical style and hope that their honesty will encourage others who are struggling to go for their goals. If these first singles are anything to go by, we can only expect the album to achieve just that! With consistent and well-deserved praise, the duo are on the trajectory to spread their message of inspiration to a wider audience than ever before. Their message and their growth truly show no sign of stopping.
