Swiss-born, Berlin-based, Ay Wing's knack for eclectic experimental soul laced with modern contemporary styles is what makes her stand out from the pack. She sounds comfortable on neo soul, chill-hop and lofi and on her latest release titled "Release Me", she delivers a first-class performance bolstered by honest and unapologetic songwriting. Over the pop-infused soulful backdrop, she details her transformation from being emotionally dependent to finally realizing her true worth and strength to stand alone. Lines like "You had me running, far away from myself/ Try to deceive me, made me believe I need to be someone else" explains the situation further and we see Ay Wing rise like the proverbial Phoenix as the climatic chorus section kicks in. "Release Me" is a powerful reminder to take the necessary steps toward freedom and self-empowerment regardless of how difficult it can be.
