With immense creativity and innovative ideas fuelled from years of studying classical piano, operatic singing, musical technology, advanced harmony and songwriting, Lia Hide undoubtedly has the qualifications in music theory to write songs that break down boundaries of musical norms.
Lia has supported and collaborated with a number of top international and Greek artists including: Tricky, Joseph van Wissem, Anneke van Giersbergen, Kadebostany, KBHTA, Keep Shelly in Athens, Molly Nilsson and Kovacs. Top this off with playing a number of European tours, Lia Hide also has the experience and presence to tick all the boxes of a successful act.
The single "Birthdays" from her recent new album The Missing Fourth Guest has just received its own video. The haunting piano ballad grows through layers of chorus soaked guitar, swaying drums, strings and bells. This is all brought into the spotlight through Lia’s whispery, hypnotic lead vocal, bewitching the audience through an angelic delicacy, matching her contemplative lyricism. The track is accompanied by a video montage of Lia’s performances, aiding the viewer to feel the same development in their own lives as you experience a self-reflective patchwork of your own progression throughout life.
Speaking about ‘Birthdays’ Lia describes the new single as: “A birthday song written deep in the recent quarantines, when no celebrations were possible – a quasi-lament with an optimistic twist, Birthdays is the opening song of 'The Missing Fourth Guest'. Also touching on (with a bit of sarcasm) our excessive use of social media and isolation practices.”
With Lia and her three piece band signed to Conch Town Records, they are now releasing some of their most expansive music to date. Unafraid to experiment and using their impeccable talents to create a unique sound and aesthetic, the future looks incredibly bright for one of the most exciting names on the Art-Pop scene.
