Gilska is a London-born, Sri Lankan-originating artist. Her edgy pop anthems have gained plenty of acclaim, and although her career started with classical training, Gilska’s artistry has evolved into a soulful and hypnotic musical experience. Her latest offering is the single "Don’t Need Your Love", an intense alternative-electronic-pop sonic experience.

The tracks takes a recipe of a punchy beat, dazzling modulated synths, industrial arpeggiators and cutting vocals samples to lay the foundations for Gilska’s vocals. Her infectious, silky and celestial performance gives the track a melodic central hook reinforced by the engaging melancholic yet defiant lyricism. All this creates a danceable, 80s-influenced electronic soundscape that blends tight electronic music with pop tendencies.

Speaking about the meaning behind the single, Gilska explains: “This single is very literal. Realising the ugly truth about a situation that you thought would be great for you that turned out to be a complete manipulation and deceiving lie.

I think a lot of people look for closure when they still want situations to work out even when it means putting themselves in vulnerable positions and so I really want to shed light and empower people that can relate. It’s giving them a chance to feel gothic-sexy and bringing the energy of being reborn.”

Gilska is known for pulling listeners into her sonic world, growing her into an artist with widespread support. With several high profile performances under her belt including at the Wembley stadium for Voice in a Million, Gilska has built a reputation as a rising star on the road to success.
