Rising Texas-based musician Lew Apollo offers up an enticing single “Trouble On My Mind,” built on a blend of blues and rock with touches of neo-soul. Taken from his forthcoming debut EP JUNGLE, the track weaves through a captivating journey through mental health led by Apollo’s trademark raspy vocals.
A production rooted in deeply personal themes of Apollo’s struggles with anxiety and depression, the track’s sultry vibe featuring hypnotic guitar and bass hooks is balanced by a thoughtful and powerful dive into important topics to make for a vivid musical experience.
Speaking of the track, he said, “TROUBLE ON MY MIND took on a new meaning following my father's suicide in 2022. Originally a song summarising fear and temptation quickly transformed into a metaphor for the entrapment of one's own mind.”
Drawing the painful instances of his life to transform vulnerability into catharsis, Apollo’s ability to write about the common struggles of depression, temptation and anxiety has set him up as an up-and-comer whose sonic world can find comfort in.
