Tom Ashbrook retruns with achingly beautiful new single "Dusk"

Liverpool-based neo-classical artist, Tom Ashbrook, has just released his achingly beautiful single, “Dusk”. This warm and emotive piece is the first of his forthcoming album, Nocturnes.

Through synth pads and stringed orchestral instruments, Ashbrook encapsulates a longing hope with a sentimental feeling. The artist builds the track up with each instrument and melody being introduced one at a time in waves. With his musical journal beginning with classic piano training at the age of 5 and developing an appreciation for the emotive and storytelling qualities of film soundtracks, it can be clearly heard in a motion picture with beautiful, grand landscapes.

Ashbrook comments on his forthcoming album, “Nocturnes is a collection of character pieces inspired by the falling of night, the ‘Blue Hour’. I wrote initial ideas of this concept all starting around 30 mins before sunset and 30 minutes before sunrise. With the sombre Juno chords and field texture recorded around 1750pm, ‘Dusk ‘ is the opening track of the album introducing the time, setting and colour palette of the album.”
