Berlin brother-sister duo The Lovelines showcases their heartwarming blend of lo-fi, pop and jazz on “Strange Kind of Love,” delivering up an enticing mix of rich keys and gentle guitars, punctuated by vibrant beats.
With neo-soul vocals floating gently over the layered soundscape, the genre-blended production comes to life with “old-fashioned jazz” feel. Speaking of creative process behind the track, the pair explain, “ On the local jazz radio station, we hear a lot of classic compositions covered by bands. I wanted to write a song with the intention of sounding like a cover, but it’s not a cover. It’s our faux jazz standard.”
Sweet and short but with plenty of punch, the track establishes the versatile musicality of the German sibling duo as they leave you wanting much more of what they’re offering.
