Utah-bred, Los Angeles-based artist Buppy. has shared a new video for his song "miranda!". Coming off an Apple Music Zane Lowe Premiere for his well-received offering “Hot b!”, he brings a warmly energizing new release with "miranda!" that further experiments with the eclectic sound he has been creating.
Born in a bedroom studio in LA, produced by Buppy., DXCKLIN & Bayley Grainge, and frequent collaborator BOIA, "miranda!" tells the relatable tale of a failing relationship where you cannot meet the standards of your partner. The lyrics reflect on the good times they once had while acknowledging they may never return. The grim message is contrasted by an upbeat anti-pop production inspired by the likes of Flume. Equipped with punchy, pulsating drums, dream-like, atmospheric guitars, and riveting bass, the production on "miranda!" merges sleekly with Buppy.'s youthful, lively vocal delivery and infectious melodies. The accompanying video, directed by DUMBDAYS!, uses real-to-life shots and nostalgic filters to capture the song's wistfulness, while putting a retro-futuristic twist on the track.
After debuting at SXSW 2023, ‘miranda!’ brings a refreshing new sound to Buppy.’s catalog, serving as the lead single to his sophomore EP, names&places. The project comprises six short stories, each evoking its own unique emotion.
